WHY COAT YOUR BASEMENT
Transform your basement into a usable space
A coated basement floor changes how you use the space — from a utility area you avoid to a clean, finished room you're proud of.
Moisture-resistant system
Our basement coatings are specifically formulated to resist moisture vapor transmission — the main cause of basement floor coating failure.
Seamless surface
No grout lines, no seams, no joints. A seamless coating means no places for moisture, mold, or bacteria to accumulate.
Lifetime warranty
Every basement coating is backed by our lifetime warranty covering peeling, bubbling, and delamination — no fine print, no time limit.
Works on finished & unfinished
Whether your basement is a utility space or a finished living area, we have a coating system designed for your specific conditions.
Easy to clean
A damp mop handles everyday cleaning. No scrubbing, no special cleaners. The sealed surface resists stains and wipes clean easily.
Adds home value
A clean, finished basement floor increases your usable square footage and adds measurable value at the time of sale.
COATING SYSTEMS
Choose the right system for your basement
We offer three garage floor finish systems — each available in dozens of color combinations. We bring samples to your estimate so you can see the finish before we start.
Important note about basement coatings
Not all basements are suitable for coating without prior moisture remediation. We test moisture vapor emission at every estimate — if your basement has active water intrusion, we'll tell you honestly before recommending a coating system.
Most popular
Epoxy + polyaspartic system
Our full two-coat system — epoxy base coat for adhesion and strength, polyaspartic topcoat for durability and finish. Available in chip blends, solid colors, and metallic finishes.
• Diamond ground preparation
• Chip, solid, or metallic finish options
• UV stable polyaspartic topcoat
• Lifetime warranty included
Polyaspartic single-coat system
A fast-cure single-coat system for basements with good concrete condition and low moisture. Ideal for utility areas or spaces where a clean, functional floor is the primary goal.
• Faster cure time
• Solid color finish
• Lower profile — ideal for tight clearances
• Lifetime warranty included
Decorative chip system
Full flake broadcast system for basements being converted into finished living space — home gyms, game rooms, or guest suites. High-end look with maximum durability.
• Full broadcast chip coverage
• Slip-resistant texture built in
• Hundreds of color blend options
• Lifetime warranty included
Concrete sealing
For utility basements where function matters more than aesthetics. A penetrating sealer protects the concrete, reduces dust, and adds a light sheen without a full coating system.
• Penetrating sealer — no delamination risk
• Reduces concrete surface dusting
• Natural concrete appearance retained
• Most economical option available
OUR PROCESS
How we coat your basement floor
Every basement job starts with a thorough assessment — because basements need more care than garages.
01
Moisture assessment
We test moisture vapor emission levels before recommending any system. This critical step prevents future coating failure before it can happen.
02
Diamond grinding
Full surface diamond grinding to create the mechanical profile the coating needs to bond properly. No shortcuts on prep — ever.
03
Coating application
The recommended system is applied in sequence — base coat first, decorative layer if selected, and polyaspartic topcoat to seal and protect.
04
Walk-through
Final inspection and walk-through with you before we leave. Light use is safe the same day, full use resumes within 24 hours.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Basement floor coating FAQ
Questions we hear most from Raleigh homeowners before booking a basement estimate.
Can you coat a basement with moisture issues?
It depends on the severity. Minor moisture vapor is manageable with the right system. Active water intrusion needs remediation first. We test at every estimate and give you an honest answer before recommending any coating.
Will the coating peel due to moisture?
Not with our system and proper prep. Delamination from moisture is the most common failure point with basement coatings — which is exactly why we test moisture levels before every job. Our lifetime warranty covers peeling.
Can you coat a basement with cracks?
Yes — hairline and minor structural cracks are filled during prep. We assess all cracks at the estimate. Cracks caused by active settlement or water intrusion are addressed before coating begins.
How long does a basement coating take?
Most basement jobs are complete in one day. Larger basements or those requiring additional prep work may take two days. We provide an accurate timeline at the estimate so you can plan accordingly.
Can I use my basement while it cures?
Light foot traffic is safe within a few hours of completion. Normal use resumes within 24 hours. We recommend waiting 72 hours before placing heavy furniture, gym equipment, or storage shelving.
Is a coated basement floor slippery?
Our chip and quartz systems have natural slip resistance built in. For smooth solid-color systems, we can add anti-slip aggregate to the topcoat at no extra charge — just let us know at the estimate.
