How we coat your pool deck or patio
Outdoor jobs require more surface prep than indoor — we take the extra steps to make sure the coating bonds and lasts.

Site assessment
We assess the concrete condition, check for existing sealers, measure the area, and recommend the right system for your specific outdoor conditions.

Surface preparation
Diamond grinding or pressure washing to remove existing sealers and contaminants. Cracks and spalls are filled. Proper prep is critical on outdoor concrete.

Coating application
System applied in sequence — base coat, decorative layer if selected, and UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat with anti-slip aggregate incorporated.

Cure & use
Polyaspartic systems cure fast — light foot traffic typically same day. Full pool deck use within 24-48 hours depending on conditions and system used.

Will it get slippery when wet?
No — slip resistance is built into every outdoor system we install. Quartz systems are inherently textured; smooth systems get anti-slip aggregate added to the topcoat as standard.
Will it fade in the Raleigh sun?
No — we only use UV-stable formulations for outdoor applications. The polyaspartic topcoat is specifically rated for direct UV exposure and won't yellow, chalk, or fade.
Can you coat an existing sealed deck?
It depends on what's there. Existing sealers must be removed or abraded before coating. We assess this at the estimate — most sealed decks can be prepared for a new coating system.
Will it crack in winter?
Our outdoor systems are specified for the Raleigh climate including freeze-thaw cycles. Flexible formulations move with the concrete rather than cracking or delaminating in cold temperatures.
How long until we can use the pool deck?
Light foot traffic is typically safe within hours. Full use including pool furniture and foot traffic around the pool is usually safe within 24-48 hours. We'll give you a specific timeline at the estimate.
Can you coat a patio that's partially shaded?
Yes — shaded areas actually experience less UV stress. We use the same UV-stable system across the entire surface for consistency, regardless of sun exposure variation.
